A Policeman's Perspective on Proposed Pay Cuts

£8 on overtime is a lot cheaper than calling a plumber

Recent news headlines revealed police officers earned £3.8 billion in overtime over the last 10 years!

Let's say there were on average 130,000 officers serving in the UK across those 3,650 days. That means an average of only £8 per day per officer.

That is £8 extra to deal with terrorism, major & organised crime, robbery, burglary, rape, murder, theft, assault, public order, riots, domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, traffic accidents, firearms incidents & armed protection ... oh, and the criminal expense scandal of politicians who purport to represent the public in the same Parliament who now seek to criticise and ridicule the very police officers who diligently and dutifully properly serve the public.

£8 in overtime? You try calling out a plumber for anything under £50!

Police officers ... politically ridiculed and undermined ... yet still a bargain at only £8! When in need of urgent help, phone your MP at 3 a.m. & offer to pay them £8 for their trouble and see what response you get ....
