6 years-old girls sexually assaulted at Legoland

Police hunt hampered by large crowds of attendees






Child Abuse police are investigating sexual assaults on children at Legoland yesterday, Thursday 11 August 2016.

Every parent's worse nightmare came true when a man sexually assaulted two 6 years-old girls playing in Legoland's Castaway Camp, Pirate Shores.

The assault happened at lunchtime, between 12.15 pm and 12.30 pm.

Police have issued this picture of the man they are seeking in connection with the assaults.

The man is described as:-

  • White coloured
  • Aged in his teens or early twenties
  • Height possibly under 5ft 8ins (1m72)
  • Trousers: dark-coloured slim fitting trousers
  • Top: a dark-coloured T-shirt
  • Shoes: trainers

Police Appeal

Penny Mackenzie, a detective inspector with Thames Valley Police's Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said:

We really need the public's help to find the offender who sexually assaulted two young girls at Legoland.

I ask everyone who visited the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort yesterday (Thursday, 11 August), especially if you went to Castaway Camp in Pirate Shores, to check all photographs from your visit to see if you can spot anyone who looks like the man in this E-Fit picture

If you recognise the man's description, or think you might know him, or have some other information, no matter how insignificant you think it is, please we really want to hear from you.

I would like to reassure local families and visitors to Legoland that such offences are extremely rare. We are conducting a detailed investigation and working closely with Legoland to find the suspect.

17 August : Man arrested

Thames Valley Police announced this afternoon they have arrested a 22 years-old Bracknell man on suspicion of sexually assaulting the two six years-old girls.

The unnamed person currently remains in police custody. Further updates are expected.

31 August : Arrested man innocent

At noon today Thames Valley Police issued this statement.

A 22-year-old man from Bracknell previously arrested in connection with the investigation had been re-bailed but has now been released without charge.

Investigating officer, Det Insp Penny Mackenzie of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: "We continue to appeal for the public's help to find the person responsible for this offence."
