New arrests in Wa-ays Dhaye murder investigation

Police charge 3 with perverting the course of justice

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, three people have been charged in connection with a murder investigation in Slough.

The charges are in relation to the murder of Wa-ays Dhaye, aged 18, from Slough, who was killed in Thurston Road, Slough, virtually at his doorstep, on Monday, 31 August 2015.

The charged persons are:-

  • James Barker, aged 75, of St Hughs Avenue, High Wycombe;
  • Wesley Barker, aged 40, of Pentland Road, Slough; and
  • Sophia Corbyn, aged 47, of Ripley Road, Reading,

Each been charged with a single occurrence of perverting the course of justice.

They are scheduled to appear at Slough Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 27 June 2017.

All were arrested on 28 February this year and charged on 24 May 2017.

Update : 27 June 2017

Slough Magistrates Court considered the case too serious to be heard in a Magistrates Court and ordered the three defendants to appear at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, 25 July 2017.

This hearing is likely to be a directions hearing where a judge will decide on the pre-trial preparation then allocate a trial date.

Wa-ays Dhaye was savagely and mercilessly murdered by three mentally deranged teenage killers who committed an absolutely horrendous crime.

In November 2016, two of the killers had their prison sentences increased.
