Public unable to contact Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi MP

No normal service until end of September

Report: Paul Janik. Pictures: Labour Party.

Twice in the last week, Slough residents with government related problems have asked the Slough Times how they can contact the new Sikh MP for Slough, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi from Gravesend in Kent, who also uses the much shorter name of Tan Dhesi.

Web site vote.labour.org.uk/tan-dhesi shows Slough telephone number 52 00 70. However callers hear a very long message which eventually states it is not the number for the new MP. Instead callers should call Slough 51 81 61.

Calls to Slough 51 81 61 are answered by an automatic message saying Please leave a message. Callers are then told if the matter is urgent Tan Dhesi MP can be contacted by his Parliamentary email address, details of which can be found online.

Disliking Mr Dhesi's slovenly disregard for Slough folk – especially as some constituents do not have computers or smart phones or Internet access – a Slough Times investigation reveals:-

  • Mr Dhesi MP is not going to hold public surgeries for his many constituents until the end of September 2017.
  • On Mondays to Thursday inclusive, telephone calls will be answered by Mr Dhesi's helper at the House of Commons on 020-7219 1946.
  • On Fridays the public should ring Slough Labour HQ on 01753-51 81 61 where, hopefully, the same helper will answer the public's calls.
  • One of Mr Dhesi's Parliamentary email addresses is tan.dhesi.mp@parliament.uk

Why Mr Dhesi chose not to put these helpful details in his telephone message is beyond the Slough Times comprehension.

Mr Dhesi is overjoyed at becoming a Sikh MP. We wonder if he has plans to become a caring and fully engaged Slough MP.

Opening Times from September 2017

Publicity-shy MP, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, has announced his public surgeries.

Millionaire Mr Dhesi was unable to hold public surgeries, since his June election more than 3 months ago, due to his holidaying. Mr Dhesi's extended leisure unfortunately meant some Slough constituents could not meet him to explain their government related problems.

Mr Dhesi, or in his absence one of his assistants, will be appearing for 7 hours a month at:-

  • First Friday of every month – Council Offices, Wentworth Avenue, Britwell
One hour from 14:30 to 15:30
  • First Friday of every month – 52 Chalvey High Street
Two hours from 16:30 to 18:30
  • Third Friday of every month – Library, Trelawney Avenue, Langley
One hour from 14:30 to 15:30
  • Third Friday of every month – Advice Centre, 27 Church Street, Slough
    Two hours 16:30 to 18:30
  • First Sunday of every month – Public Centre, Villiers Road, Manor Park
One hour from 11:15 to 12:15

To speak to Mr Dhesi's assistants (MP's employees paid by the tax payers) telephone Slough (01753) 51 81 61.
