On Wednesday evening, 9 May, police were called to a violent fight inside the Earl of Cornwall pub, in Cippenham Lane, Slough.

They found a 43 years-old local man with critical life-threatening multiple stab wounds.

The unnamed victim was rushed to Wexham Park Hospital for emergency treatment.

Sadly the man died at the hospital.

Two local men, aged 35 and 58, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They are being detained in cells at Maidenhead Police Station.

The senior investigating officer is Andy Shearwood, a Detective Chief Inspector from the Major Crimes Unit

Andy said:

The public will notice an increased police presence over the coming days as we continue to investigate.

If you have any concerns, please talk to the police.

I am urging anybody with any information relating to this incident to contact us on the non-emergency number, 101, quoting URN 1606 (9/5).

I would like to re-assure people that we believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no general danger to the public. We have two male suspects in custody.

It is thought the victim and the arrested men knew each other.

Two forensic investigators examine a seat and the floor.
